Do you feel like you’re stuck with your family’s double-chin every time you look in the mirror? Are you frustrated with a stubborn pocket of fat under your chin that won’t seem to budge even with diet and exercise? Keep your chin up because you may be the perfect candidate for Kybella®!

Kybella® took the cosmetic injectable market by storm in 2014 when it gained FDA approval to reduce unwanted fat in the chin area. Suddenly, cosmetic injectors across the country had a new tool to help their patients who were concerned about a double-chin. Not only did they discover Kybella®’s effectiveness in fat reduction, but it also became evident that the injectable solution could also encourage subtle contraction and tightening of the remaining tissue, especially along the jawline. The result? A transformed profile that defies genetics and recontours your jawline to a more youthful state.

WHY IS KYBELLA® SO UNIQUE?

1. No Scalpel and No Surgery!

Kybella® is a non-surgical method of helping you ditch a double-chin (whether genetic or otherwise) and improve the contours and definition of your jawline. To date, it is the only FDA approved injectable that is clinically proven to reduce sub-mental (under the chin) fat.

It’s important to note that Kybella® is NOT a substitution for a full surgical neck or facelift. Skin that is loose and crepey will not tighten fully with Kybella®. Its real purpose is to reduce and recontour areas of fullness and excess fat. Your injection specialist will help you identify if you are an ideal candidate.

2. Not Only Does it Work… Results are Permanent!

Kybella® is made up of deoxycholic acid, a molecule that is naturally occurring in your body and helps break down the fat you consume through diet. When injected under the chin, it causes permanent destruction of fat cells in that area. Your body’s lymphatic system safely and progressively removes these cells over time.

3. Treatment is Customized to YOU and YOUR CHIN

Your Kybella® treatment course will typically require 2-4 visits spaced roughly six weeks apart. This protocol is entirely dependent upon the amount of fat present and the desired outcome. Your injection specialist will lay out your ideal treatment plan to ensure you get the best results. Each treatment takes only 15-20 minutes, with the actual injection taking about five minutes to perform.

4. It’s Safe and Effective

As previously discussed, Kybella® is most beneficial for patients who have healthy skin tone and elasticity, but merely want to reduce the amount of fat under their chin and recontour their jawline. It is not indicated for loose, sagging skin at the jawline.

Although there may be some slight swelling, tenderness, and possibly bruising after your injection, Kybella® has been proven to be completely safe and very few side effects are associated with its use.

5. There’s Minimal Downtime

Immediately after your treatment, it is normal to experience some swelling and tenderness below your chin. This response will typically subside within 48 hours. Minor bruising (from the injection) can also occur, and you may notice some numbness, firmness, or density to the injection site for up to a week. Some patients even cite feeling the area is a bit “jiggly.” These are all usual symptoms, and all will subside with time. Your injection specialist will recommend spacing your treatments around special events on your social schedule to ensure you look your best!

Improvements set in with Kybella® in as little as four weeks, but your optimal outcome is assessed three months after your last treatment. This interval is because it takes time for the treated fat cells to be cleared away by your lymphatic system and remaining tissue to remodel and contract from the treatment. Your injection specialist will meet with you 4-6 weeks after your first treatment to assess if further correction is needed.

Afterward, you’ll enjoy a beautiful new profile with results that are PERMANENT!
