Kybella® is the first, non-surgical, FDA-approved injectable treatment to diminish fat and help recontour your entire jawline.
The active ingredient in Kybella® is deoxycholic acid, a natural substance in your body that helps your digestive tract break down the fat in the food you eat. When injected into areas of fat accumulation, it triggers the permanent breakdown of fat cells.
THE PROCESS
Kybella® is wonderful for people who have double chins, thicker necklines, or pockets of fat under their chin—it is NOT ideal for people with loose, sagging skin on their neck. Your injector will help you identify if you are a good candidate. If you are, our team will map out a treatment strategy based on the number of vials and treatments you will need to see the best fat reduction. It is common for most patients to need up to four treatment sessions, if not six. Treatments only take about 20 minutes and are spaced 8-12 weeks apart. Multiple vials may be injected at each treatment.
After your Kybella® treatment has ended, you may notice a feeling of fullness under your chin. In addition, mild numbness, redness, and tenderness are normal symptoms for up to two weeks post treatment. Although rare, bruising may occur. As always, we recommend you discuss your social calendar with your injector when scheduling your treatments.
THE RESULTS
A slimmer jawline doesn’t happen overnight with Kybella®. In fact, your chin and neck may initially appear fuller than when you started for a week or two due to swelling. But, a lot is happening in the weeks following your treatment. The deoxycholic acid is breaking down the fat cells. Your lymphatic system is clearing away those fat cells. The remaining tissue is retracting and tightening.
Be patient — this process is progressive, but results are permanent.
Most patients see results eight weeks after their first treatment and full results three months after their last treatment.
